Meet Éadaoin
Hello, I’m Éadaoin van der Krogt, a CORU-registered Paediatric Occupational Therapist and the founder of Éiri OT. Originally from the Netherlands, I have lived in Ireland for more than half my life and now call Macroom, Co. Cork home. I’m passionate about supporting children to grow in confidence, independence, and joy in their everyday lives.
With experience working closely with children and families, I understand the worries parents often face when their child is struggling at home, in school, or with peers. My approach is always child-centred and family-focused, rooted in the belief that small steps lead to big progress. I value creativity, curiosity, and kindness — qualities I carry into my work and my life. Outside of therapy, I love being outdoors in the beautiful Cork countryside, spending time with animals, and baking — all of which remind me of the simple joys and resilience that I want to help children discover for themselves.
Why “Éiri”?
The Irish word Éirí means “to rise” or “to get up”. I chose this name because it reflects the heart of my practice: helping children rise to their potential, step by step, in a way that feels positive and achievable.
My Approach
At Éiri OT, I believe therapy should feel natural and supportive for the whole family:
Playful and fun – children learn best when they’re enjoying themselves, so sessions feel like games rather than “work.”
Practical and everyday-focused – strategies fit into your normal routines, making them easy to use long after the session ends.
Strengths-based – I look at what your child can do and build on that, rather than focusing only on the challenges.
Family and school connected – I involve parents and teachers so everyone is working together and your child feels supported in every setting.
All sessions take place in your child’s home, where they feel most comfortable and supported. Together, we build on strengths, nurture resilience, and support children to participate fully at home, in school, and in the community.
Whether it’s handwriting, sensory regulation, attention, or daily living skills, my mission is to help children feel capable, confident, and supported — while giving parents the tools and reassurance they need too.
