Parent & School Support at Éiri OT
Supporting a child’s development works best when everyone is on the same page. At Éiri OT, we work closely with parents — and collaborate with schools where possible — to make sure strategies are practical, consistent, and effective in everyday life.
Parent Support
Raising a child with additional needs can feel overwhelming at times. Through home visits, we offer guidance and coaching to help you feel confident in supporting your child day to day.
This may include:
Practical strategies for routines (dressing, mealtimes, bedtime)
Sensory regulation strategies that fit into your home life
Fine and gross motor activity ideas for playtime
Handwriting and homework support tips
Building independence in self-care skills (feeding, toileting, dressing)
Parents are always welcome in sessions, and we provide resources and handouts so you feel supported every step of the way.
School Support
Children spend much of their day at school, so it’s important that strategies carry over into the classroom. While we don’t currently provide in-person school visits, we can still support teachers and SNAs through:
Consultation with parents to share classroom strategies
Written recommendations for teachers and SNAs
Guidance for classroom adaptations (e.g. handwriting, attention, sensory-friendly setups)
Workshops or information sessions for schools (by arrangement)
Our goal is to help schools feel confident in supporting children’s needs while promoting inclusion and participation.
Collaboration
We believe in a team approach. That means working closely with:
Parents and families
Teachers and SNAs (via parent-led liaison)
GPs, health visitors, and psychologists
Other therapists (SLTs, PTs, psychologists)
Together, we can create a consistent support system for each child.
How to Access Support
You can request parent coaching on its own, or as part of a full therapy plan.
Parents: simply contact us directly.
Schools: we can work with you through parent consent and agreement.
At Éiri OT, we know that small changes in the home and school environment can make a big difference to a child’s everyday success.
