Assessments at Éiri OT (Home Visits)

At Éiri OT, we believe every child’s journey is unique. Our home-based assessments give a clear picture of your child’s strengths, challenges, and needs so we can plan support that fits naturally into daily life.

All assessments are carried out in your home. We use a combination of parent interviews, clinical observations, and (when helpful) standardised assessments to understand how your child is doing at home, in school, and in everyday routines.

How our home assessments work

  • In your child’s familiar space: Children are often more relaxed at home, so we see a truer picture of their skills.

  • Family-centred: We listen to your priorities and build strategies that fit your routines.

  • Practical and meaningful: Recommendations are easy to use between sessions, so progress continues day to day.

  • School collaboration (no school visits for now): We can liaise with teachers by phone/email and provide classroom strategies. If a school observation becomes essential, we’ll discuss options and timing.

  • You’ll receive clear feedback on the day (whenever possible) and practical recommendations.

  • A written report for parents (and, if you wish, for school or other professionals).

  • If ongoing therapy is recommended, we’ll create a personalised home-based therapy plan together.

What happens after an assessment?

With a clear understanding from assessment, we can help your child rise to their potential — step by step.
